Features of Moen MotionSense Faucets
The water flow from these Motionsensor faucets works in three ways. Primarily with the help of the handle, next by wave sensor on the spout and finally by a ready sensor attached at the base of the faucets. These sensors work on batteries. When the battery is running low, the blue LED at the base will be flashing. It uses 6 AA batteries to work.
Handles: The handles for the Motionsense works exactly like any other faucets. It can be used for controlling the water flow or temperature of the water, and also for turning it on or off as per need.
Wave sensor: The wave sensor is located on the spout. By waving the hand over this sensor, the water flow will start and it flows until you turn it off. The turning off is also the same, by waving the hand over the sensor. This is helpful for filling the pots and a slightly long term use of water flow. The main advantage of this Wave sensor is that the water keeps running until you turn it off.
Ready sensor is another convenient way that a sensor is located at the base of the faucet. It will be activated when a hand or object is in its vicinity and the water stars flowing. This sensor is useful for immediate small uses like rinsing a cup or washing the hands. The water flow will immediately stop as soon as the object it taken off from its vicinity.
These sensors may be turned off if needed. For turning off both the sensors, keep your hand over the sensor for 5 seconds. The water will flow in the beginning but will stop immediately. This indicates that the sensors are now switched off. To enable it again, keep the hand over the sensor again for 5 seconds, the water will flow once again.
To disable and enable only the ready sensor, turn on the faucet using handles and keep your hand above the wave sensor for 5 seconds. To enable it once again, keep the hand over the Wave sensor for 5 seconds.
The hands-free mode of these Moen Motionsense faucets works independently of the state of the handles. Whether the handles are turned on or off, the sensors will enable the water flow.
